Researchers found pottery melted into glass, vitrified mudbrick, and shocked zircon crystals: evidence of a catastrophic high-temperature event consistent with a cosmic airburst. The identification with Sodom is debated, but something capable of producing exactly that destruction did happen in this region, in this era."
